A letter of permission gives a specific person specific authority. In the letter, it should address the specific authority of the person who is requiring the letter. A school trip is a good example of a permission letter being needed for the teacher to have authority over your child. The letter should state exactly what type of authority is being given, whether it is authority for a school trip, to pick up a car, or accept a package. The letter should start with "I hereby give permission for…". It should end with “Signed this ___ day of (month) (year)" and your signature with your name printed beneath it. Remember to keep a copy of your letter of permission for your own records to avoid any misconduct or misunderstandings.
