LetterRep.com was founded in June 2001 with 200 letters. Back then, letters were given away and LetterRep's primary revenue model was affiliate income through banner ads. 200 letters quickly proved to be far too few to satisfy the needs of customers and LetterRep was inundated with emails requesting new and different letter types. In response to the demand, hundreds of letters were written and acquired until the number grew to over 1200 belonging to the site. This group of letters served to define LetterRep.com's original 136 categories. In 2004, the banner ad format was scrapped for a membership model, but by this time LetterRep had become a place to request a letter, if one to suit could not already be found on the site. The number of daily requests soon created a greater demand than LetterRep's limited staff was capable of handling. In August of 2006, a social model was added with the Writer's Side. This new model allowed anyone with the special gift of writing and an internet connection to join, review customer-submitted requests and then write letters in response. With the addition of the Writer's side, 1000s of customers were served and LetterRep's categories grew to over 155. To date, the number of custom-written letters has increased from 1200 to over 13000. Since 2001, we have adapted to become... a place to have a letter written a place to find a letter similar to the one you need a resource of ideas to use for composing your own letters a time-saver when you're busy and, a place to ask for help.... Understanding this, it now becomes our responsibility to serve our customers, and we feel we are entrusted to provide this service to you fully. To find these letters on the site, go to the homepage, choose a category and review the list of custom letters for that category. Custom Letter Writing: Request a letter on this page. This option lets you make a personal request to all the writers and receive multiple responses for your letter. (Be sure to register if you want your request to go to the top of the stack.) Each time a writer submits a response, you are emailed with a link to review your letter. If the letter suits your needs you can click 'Accept' and the letter gets assigned to your account.
